The Retail Management Game has undergone a comprehensive and thorough revision. These changes are aimed to improve the flow and clarity of the game. We also worked to make the simulation more current by bringing the terms and data up to date. We made:
- Changes to verbiage to make it more clear and current
- Adjustments to data tables for more realism
- Extensions of explanations and instructions
- Additions of details to the storyline
- Updates to overviews and reports
One significant change to the Retail Management Game involves the company name. Previously, the scenario involved all teams taking over the Adler Company. However, we have amended this so every team has a different name. This change will make the market research within the simulation easier to decipher. Moreover, instructors will be able to more quickly recognize the different teams.
The essence and pedagogy of the Retail Management Game remains unchanged. Students will take over a struggling retail corporation in order to better meet the demands set by the Board of Directors. The eight-quarter, team-based simulation focuses on:
