Dominican Business Expo

On April 2nd and 3rd, the PUCMM Expo Nuevos Negocios (New Business Expo) allowed students who had finished the New Business Creation and Development Seminar the opportunity to present the business plans they created during their tenure as students of Marketing Administration. The Expo exposed them to the Dominican academic, entrepreneurial, and business communities.
The fifty participants of the New Business Creation and Development Seminar had just concluded their first Marketplace experience using the Introduction to Business and Strategy game. The simulation experience had been introduced as a key component of the seminar. Marketplace helped the students develop the necessary skills to plan and efficiently carry out their entrepreneurship projects towards a real life implementation.
Marketplace co-sponsored the PUCMM Expo Nuevos Negocios.
Goals
The goals of the expo were to:
- Discuss new business methods
- Motivate the students to create new ventures that could contribute to the Dominican Republic's economic and social development
- Find technical and financial support for such projects
- To award the best three student plans of the 2008-2009 school year

Seminar
The expo included a panel discussion sponsored by Pearson and McGraw/Hill. It was composed of members of the Dominican business community, entrepreneurs, and marketing educators. The panel was led by Dr. Rafael Alcaraz Rodriguez and Alexander E. Lerma Kirchner.
