The Competition of Experienced Players - February 2007

Do you have students who would like to play Marketplace again? Would they like to take it to a higher level? How about playing against other experienced players?

For the ultimate in business competition, have your gung-ho students join the Competition for Experienced Players.

Registration: begins January 3, 2007; ends on January 29, 2007
(Sign up instructions will be sent out and games will be activated in the evening of February 7, 2007).

Duration: 10 weeks

Where: Over the Internet

Who can participate: Any individual, with an Internet connection, who has previously participated in any Marketplace business simulation game.

Level of Difficulty: International Corporate Management: A comprehensive international management exercise (8 decision periods or quarters) where students compete in an international electronics market set in China, Canada, United States, Brazil, and Europe. Real teams from around the world will play out the competition.

Cost: $US 50 per participant (wholesale price). Universities in parts of Asia, South America, Africa and Eastern Europe may be eligible for an additional discount.

Requirement: Participants must have prior Marketplace experience.

• Quarter 1: Due Wednesday, February 14 at 1:00 PM Eastern Time.
• Quarter 2: Due Wednesday, February 21 at 1:00 PM Eastern Time.
• Quarter 3: Due Wednesday, February 28 at 1:00 PM Eastern Time.
• Quarter 4: Due Wednesday, March 7 at 1:00 PM Eastern Time.
• 1 Week Break to develop Business Plan (Optional - See Instructor)
• Quarter 5: Due Wednesday, March 21 at 1:00 PM Eastern Time.
• Quarter 6: Due Wednesday, March 28 at 1:00 PM Eastern Time.
• Quarter 7: Due Wednesday, April 4 at 1:00 PM Eastern Time.
• Quarter 8: Due Wednesday, April 11 at 1:00 PM Eastern Time.
• Announcement of winners: Wednesday, April 25
