New Support
Staff - Richard Mann
Richard Mann was born in 1980 in Chattanooga, TN
and lived both there and Pittsburgh, PA, until he moved to Knoxville
in 1999 to attend the University of Tennessee. He graduated four
years later with a BA in Broadcasting. Remaining in Knoxville, Richard
produced shows for local radio-station cluster Citadel Broadcasting.
Richard has always enjoyed working with computers,
and grew up playing around with them. Therefore, he ended up in
the position of Network Administrator at Citadel. This was a natural
transition out of broadcasting, as most of his duties were computer
related. In the midst of all this, Richard was married to his wife,
Priscilla, on June 6, 2004, and their first child, Gideon Lee Mann
was born on May 1, 2005.
Richard started at ILS in July of this year, and
has already learned quite a bit. He is excited about his future
with ILS. Currently, Richard is in System Administration and Technical
support. He will be working with Jano Simcka to learn all the ILS
systems to backup Jano’s many duties, especially the administration
of Knoxville's network, focusing on its web servers, database servers,
etc. He hopes that his addition to ILS is one that will allow the
company to continue to improve reliability, customer service, and
expand/improve the already impressive line of simulations that we
offer.
Richard's personal interests include cycling, and
music (he plays both piano and guitar), but most of all, he loves
spending time with his wife and son.
